Social Media Series: The Goal is to Become A Gardener
Role: creator, producer, script-writer, guest-booker, videographer, sound, episode editor, social media clip editor
I created this series in 2020 and we’re currently shooting Season 7 (which will be the final season). We started with 5-minute videos, zero sponsors and about 15,000 views for the first episodes, and have grown to producing 15-minute episodes with multiple sponsors each that get 100,000 views and have a loyal following.

Social Media Series: adapting The Goal is to Become A Gardener
As social media evolved and Instagram/Facebook fully embraced short-form video, The Goal is to Become A Gardener had to evolve too. This year, for season 7, the format has changed to weekly 1 1/2-minute videos that continue to engage our loyal following and deliver up-to-date information.

CONTENT ACROSS PLATFORMS
I created a story for SJ Mag Media that included social media video, interviews and photos. The print article included my photos and my writing. That was also published on the website. I also shot and edited Instagram/Facebook reels. And I shot the cover photo for the issue. (I also scheduled and chose locations for each photo/video shoot that I did.)

Podcasting: Toni Farmer’s Garden: The Podcast
Role: producer, script-writer, guest-booker, videographer, sound, episode editor, social media clip editor
Toni Farmer is a gardening influencer with 250K+ Instagram followers. I started her podcast – which now has a 4.9-star rating on Apple Podcasts – at the end of last year, and have since gotten her set up on Patreon.

Writing (social media)
I have a decade of experience writing for social media, and have most recently added myself to the list of people I’ve written thought-leadership content for.

Writing (long-form)
I write regularly for SJ Mag Media – from short-form web stories to long-form print articles. This is an article I wrote about a local fossil park that became a museum and public dig site (it was established by one of the world’s top paleontologists, who I’ve interviewed a few times and is very cool honestly).
